The Lionel Lee Jr. Center for Wellness (LLCW) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is registered in the state of North Carolina. The LLCW was created to serve the needs of uninsured, underinsured and chronically ill members of our community. Our mission is to assist individuals and families in meeting their immediate health and wellness needs; to increase public awareness and support for those with inadequate resources; and to provide information to promote healthy lifestyles. |
The Lionel Lee Jr. Center for Wellness is committed to making a difference in the lives of those who suffer from conditions such as cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, depression and other physical and mental illnesses that disproportionately affect members of our community that do not have adequate health coverage. |
The crisis in our health care system includes runaway costs that make it difficult if not impossible for all who need health care to obtain the help they need. We work with individuals and families to acquire or purchase medication and equipment such as eyeglasses and hearing aids, canes and walkers. We also provide resources for transportation to doctors’ appointments, and in some cases for such basic necessities as nutritious food and clothing. |
We strive to empower our clients with the ability to take charge of their health and wellness. We conduct informational workshops and seminars; provide assistance with completing forms and applications for assistance.
